Characteristics
Vlad is a heavy unit belonging to the Secret Faction. It hits enemies with a giant long sharp whittled log and summons spikes from the ground, impaling those who are unfortunate enough to be within their radius.
Appearance
Vlad looks like their real-life counterpart, except it holds a giant tree log with a pointed tip which looks like a brown pencil. They have somewhat long hair over its shoulders in front of them.

Usage
Vlad's stake is deadly to enemies; not just at the pointed tip, but also from the side, as the massive weight of the stake can easily damage enemies as it swings it from side to side. Once it has impaled a unit fully, they hold their huge weapon up and spikes come out from the ground killing or impaling units. This makes it easier for them to fight several enemies alone compared to other spear-type weapons, such as the Sarissa. This also makes it easier for it to counter Shield units like the Shield Bearer since its attacks can bypass the shield by striking them from the side. Or in rare cases, penetrate the Protector shield's hole.
It has a high attack speed and is very strong. It can take down weak armies but is easily defeated by ranged attacks. their giant stake is good at taking down enemies that aren't too close, and it is also pretty good, so it might take some stronger Units to fight them off, or just ranged. When possessed, it is possible to take down a Mammoth alone. It is very powerful if paired with shields because they can hold off its main weakness, while also being good against enemies with shields because of the way they swing. Due to the range of the pole, it is capable of countering the Jester.
If too many units congest in front of Vlad , they and their log will be hindered of movement, making them unable to attack, though they are capable of getting out of it with some effort.
As of the Beta, it now has the 'Impale' ability, which runs on a 2 second cooldown. The Impale ability makes giant wooden stakes come out of the ground dealing low damage(enough to kill a Chieftain) in a large area, it is capable to one-shot a full army, reminiscent of the open alpha's Dark Peasant, who summoned spikes from the ground as well.
Trivia
- It was in the game before 3.0 but was left in the game's files unused. However, unlike the Ancient Tank, its files were removed after the first build.
- When it hits a unit, sometimes that unit will get stuck to the end of their log.
- Vlad IIIW on whom this unit is based, was a VoivodeW/warlord of Wallachia, and was known for their allegedly cruel methods of punishing their enemies, as myths stated that they would even drink their enemy's blood, inspiring the works of Dracula. They got their name as The Impaler (țepeș in Romanian) as they (again, in the myths) frequently impaled their enemies on long stakes, much like the one it wields.
- The thing was, Vlad genuinely cared for Wallachia, and even if they actually did impale people, it was actually to prove a point rather than out of sheer sadism.
- Vlad's TABS clothing and weapon wasn't created by Landfall Games, but was instead made by @MattMakesSwordsT who created a model of them and another unit which made Landfall decide to add Vlad to the game.
- During the release of the unit possession update Vlad along with the Jester, Taekwondo and Ullr were accessible before the player finds their weapons.
- This was quickly fixed.
- The Knight's and Vlad's voices used to be the same until the Full Release.
- Vlad is one of the few units to be based on real people, the other units being Blackbeard, Da Vinci, Hillary, and Trump.
- In reality, they actually used a sword in battle, and not a giant Stake.
- When Vlad was first released it would hit enemies with the blunt end of their stake.
- It used to cost 1000 at the time of its initial release.
