Scotland
Overview
Scotland is a map in Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. It contains campaign levels 1-5 and is one of the four (Pre-Alpha and Open Alpha) or five (Closed Alpha) maps available. It is the most similar looking map to the map used in Pre-Alpha 0.1.06 and 0.1.13. This could have been a remake of the Pre-Alpha Maps, but this is entirely speculation.
Pre-Alpha
This was the most barren Map in the Pre-Alpha. It had very few rocks and a very flat surface. When on this map, Units act like it is a completely flat surface and disregard the rocks, especially because of the layout editor in that version. It had a graveyard that was known to trap units behind gravestones. Their was also a mountain that units on the losing team usually went to.
Open Alpha
In the Open Alpha, the map added in some trees on both sides, and thanks to the new layout editor in that version, allowed you to place Units on them. In this instance the map is still very basic, so still act like it is a completely flat map, The trees are fun to mess around with, as a good tactic is to place any cheap unit on the side of the tree opposite your opponent, rendering all ranged Units useless.
Closed Alpha
The map was got the smallest update in this version, adding in a few hay bales on either side of the line. These can function as trees for rendering ranged units useless, or as lookout areas for ranged units. Or cover for ranged units like the M16.
Campaign Levels
Pre-Alpha
Level 1
This level has 10 Peasants and 80 points. You should be able to easily win this with the amount of stuff you can buy.
Level 2
This level tries a makeshift Battle of Cannae, a pincer maneuver. 1 line of Barbarians down the middle and 2 thicker lines of Farmers down each flank, and 800 points to spend. Keep a wide front, and that should get you through.
Level 3
This is one of the trickiest levels in the Pre-Alpha. It has 6 Boxers on one flank and 8 Poachers on the other, with only 300 points. Keep in mind: Barbarians are quick, Shields block arrows, and that farmers beat boxers.
Level 4
This level features Footmen and Peasants, with the Footmen down the middle and the Peasants flanking. There are no shields, and 1500 points, so artillery and range works well.
Level 5
The final level of the Hills can be tricky, but it is fine. You face 6 to 3-long Shield/ Spearman arranged in a pyramid formation, with 2500 points. Projectiles are blocked by shields, the Spears have a very long reach, and that they are spread out. A well placed Ballista can pull you through.
Open/Closed Alpha
Level 1
This level only has a few Peasants and 500 points to beat them with. Nearly any army will work here.
Level 2
Just more Peasants and 1000 points. Again, anything will work here.
Level 3
This has 10 Shields and 10 Footmen, with 1500 points. Keep in mind that projectiles are blocked by shields. Grab a swarm of cheap units, and you should be okay.
Level 4
This level has a huge group of Spearmen arranged in three rows, with 1300 points. Keep in mind the length of the Spearmen's reach and speed, but also keep in mind that they are close together. Ballistas work well.
Level 5
This, as the final level of the Scotland map, presents a challenge to some. This level has 27 Thieves, arranged in three 3x3 groups, and 1 Catapult
behind each of them, for 2000 points. Use good crowd-control units that have lots of health, like Axes or siege equipment like Ballistas or Cannoncrews, and that should get you through.
