Tank Barrel
The Tank Barrel is a ranged weapon from the Legacy faction. It is used by the Tank.
Characteristics
The Tank Barrel is a long green tube that fires high-explosive Tank Rounds. It has the longest range of any weapon in the game, outclassing the Ballista Bolt by 10 WM. Both weapons' projectiles have the same incredible travelling speed.
On impact, the Tank Round inflicts tremendous amounts of damage and engulfs its surroundings in a fiery blast. One round can easily blow out a chunk in a formation and send one hit flying. It can even stagger giant units.
Even with great firepower, thanks to modern technology, the Tank Barrel has a decent rate of fire compared to ancient artillery. Each shot only has a moderate cooldown, allowing it to fire more frequently than most ranged weapons in the game. All in all, it is one of the strongest artillery weapon in the game.
History
Tank Round
High Explosive shells or HE shells are the most common type of shell among chemical energy shells.
The origin of HE Shell is unknown. However, the idea may have sprung up from the possible idea of launching gunpowder weapons without risking the lives of allies. They used a catapult to throw pottery or boxes containing gunpowder bundles, threw primitive bombs by hand, fired mortars, and fired arrows at the enemy.
However, the development of the HE Shell commonly thought of in modern times took a great deal of time because of the special characteristic of the cannon. It was easy to think of firing an HE shell by detonating gunpowder, but the HE shell was exposed to the explosion of gunpowder inside the gun. In other words, it was a thorny issue because the shell had to meet the grotesque conditions that it had to endure the explosion of the gunpowder but explode when it had to. The primitive HE Shell with the fuse solved the need to explode on its own, but because it was a primitive time fuse, it often exploded before it even reached its goal, went off the fire, and even if it didn't detonate, the enemy at the ship quickly turned off the fuse, plunged it into the sea, or threw it back at their enemy. Because of this, these early HE shells were forced to shoot with mortars with very short foam. If the barrel of the cannon was long, the explosive energy of the gunpowder was transmitted to the HE shell and exploded.
the first Cannon that used HE shell in a modern sense is the Paixhan cannon made by French general Henri-Joseph Paixhans in 1822. In 1847, the HE shell made a splendid debut in the Battle of Veracruz during the pastry war, using a full-fledged explosive shell rather than an ironclad shell. The HE Shell, launched from a French warship, hit Fort San Juan de Ulois in Mexico. The shell hit a Mexican ammunition dump and won a major victory. It was a big shock that the huge budget-packed Star Fort collapsed in a day (it had very thick walls and large cannons). After a bit, countries all over the world actively began to introduce HE Shell to their troops.
