Usage
The Deadeye is a powerful sniper, similar to a Musketeer. They have a faster firing speed, more damage, longer range, and are generally more accurate. When they attack, they don't fire immediately. Instead, they target a unit, putting a white crosshairs icon over their chest, and then take a moment to fire. The units that are being targeted turn orange-yellow. This crosshairs doesn't make it guaranteed to hit their target, but its high accuracy makes it so that they almost always will.
Being essentially another version of the Musketeer, they have many of the same strengths and weaknesses. Crowds will be difficult for them to handle, and units like the Squire and Samurai are particularly deadly. However, both parties can take down most units in a single shot, and in groups can easily kill even the toughest of enemies.
Trivia
- They are the only Wild West unit that uses a gun other than a revolver.
- A Deadeye can one-shot a Monkey King and a Da Vinci Tank, although the latter can only be achieved by shooting Da Vinci inside.
- They also can one-shot the Knight
- They use different bullets than the other gun users in the game. While most TABS guns shoot spherical projectiles, this unit shoots conical bullets.
- A Deadeye's accuracy will drop dramatically when cheered on by multiple cheerleaders or if the "Make ranged units attack fast" bug is enabled. This is because the Deadeye's gun spins after and during shooting, resulting in the gun shooting the ground when attempting rapid fire. To "fix" this, simply shoot in 4 shot bursts instead of spamming the shoot button.
- Unlike the Gunslinger or the Quickdraw, the Deadeye's spinning animation actually affects the target where the gun will fire.
- The Deadeye seems to be a reference to the western game Red Dead Redemption, as the name of this unit is the same name for the ability, also called Deadeye.
- The Deadeye has the same hair and hat as the Dynamite Thrower.
