This unit can be found in the Ancient sandbox. From the default camera orientation, look at the walled courtyard on the right side of the map. The crossbow can be found sandwiched between the southern building and the wall hiding behind some bushes. Look at the crossbow until it disappears.
Characteristics
The Chu Ko Nu's crossbow is unique compared to other ranged weapons, as it fires 5 bolts consecutively in one attack. The unit has a slow reload time in-between firing sprees, but is strongest in groups. Unlike other ranged units, they have a melee AI, meaning they will keep backing off until they reach their weapon's maximum range from their enemies.
Appearance
They appear as a Chinese soldier with their hair in a bun like other Dynasty-themed units. They have armor and a unique quiver, as well as a shirt, belt, pants, and shoes. They are equipped with a repeating crossbow, a weapon invented in ancient China.

Usage
Chu Ko Nu is effective in groups, and can take down armies when in line formations. It is inexpensive and can mow down units swiftly. It has a slow reload time between shots, but it's price makes up for it, and you can have many of them. It fires 5 shots in quick succession, with each bolt doing half damage of the regular Archer's arrow. The Chu Ko Nu does not have very good range, though, so be careful when using it against other ranged units. It also has a longer reload time, so if the first volley fails to kill all of the units in front of the Chu Ko Nu, there's a risk of being overtaken by a mob of average-speed units.
The Chu Ko Nu can be used effectively against groups of weaker enemies, as their shots may sometimes hit multiple units. However, Chu Ko Nu seem to only "target" one specific enemy, and will rarely redirect their volley at other enemies if their first or second shots kill their target. Instead, they'll continue firing at the body of their chosen target, and may only hit other enemies by accident. It also backs up.
The Chu Ko Nu used to share the same voice as the Musketeer.
The Chu Ko Nu is found in the Ancient Sandbox and this might be a reference that the Repeating Crossbow was invented at that time.
The Chu Ko Nu is one of the few historical examples (while others were still found in china) of a crossbow with a repeating action. However, the historical weapon was relatively weak against armor and required poison-tipped bolts to be effective since the repeating action reduced the penetration power of each bolt.
The Chu Ko Nu can also be considered a Ancient unit, since it is found in Ancient Sandbox.
