Pitchfork
The Pitchfork is a melee weapon from the Farmer faction. It is used by the [[Farmer and the Wheelbarrow's Farmer]].
Characteristics
The Pitchfork is a farming tool used as a spear-like melee weapon. The weapon consists of a fork bearing three tines fixed to one end of the handle. Compared to other spears like the Sarissa, the pitchfork is much shorter.
As a tool of farming rather than fighting, the weapon deals low amounts of damage and have a reasonable cooldown. Units wielding the weapon will perform a lunge and swing attack on first contact with the enemy, with an attempt to get first hit. Afterwards, units will perform stabs with the Pitchfork until the work is done.
History
A pitchfork is an agricultural tool with a long handle and two to five tines that is used to lift and pitch or throw loose material, such as hay, straw or leaves.
Pitchforks were used as an improvised weapon by people who couldn't afford or acquire specialized and expensive weapons such as swords or firearms. This has resulted in the stereotype of angry peasant mobs carrying pitchforks.
