Location
To unlock, go to the Legacy map and look at one of the graves on the left side of the church. You will see a plinth with a statue of the old Poacher on top of it; at the bottom is a plaque that says "In Loving Memory of the Poacher. Your Arrows Pierced Our Hearts” Stare at the plaque until it glows and shakes, and the Poacher will be unlocked. |
Appearance
It wears a wide-brimmed hat and a sleeveless coat trimmed with fur. It also has a poacher's glove, a quiver, fur boots, a belt, and knee caps. And white long hair with braids. It wields a short bow.
Unit Voice
Usage
Poachers act similar to Archers, but attack much faster, have lower accuracy, deal less damage and shoot at a much lower range. Similar to most ranged units, they work well in groups with some cannon fodder in the front to hold the enemy back, especially since they stand so close to the front lines. This agile hunter is never caught off guard and strikes back whenever it is hit. A good choice against light melee units, being excellent against archers. Although their arrows do little damage, they are also quite accurate, and the Poacher has a much faster rate of fire than the archer, although not as fast as Artemis. Its Arrows have difficulty piercing heavy armor and shields, and work best against lightly armored enemies. They work best against armies with few long-range units or units with a very long reload time, as they're easily out-ranged by nearly every unit except Stoners and Spear Throwers.
Trivia
- In the older versions of the game, it was removed due to it being hard to balance with the Alpha’s Archer.
- The poacher will currently actually lose to the Archer in a 1v1.
- The poacher may have less range than the Spear Thrower, but it has a much better rate of fire.
- In real life, Poaching is illegal hunting and capturing of wildlife, the activity usually associated with land use rights. Once committed by impoverished Peasants for food, these activities were forbidden against the hunting privileges of the higher classes, such as the nobilities and leaders of territories.
