Tank
The Tank is a cavalry unit from the Legacy faction. They are equipped with the Tank Barrel. |
Characteristics
The Tank is a powerful multi-purpose, diesel powered armored fighting vehicle capable of shooting tank rounds from an incredible distance. On impact, the tank round will create a fiery explosion, blasting through shields and formations. The tank rounds will continue to be fired as long as it is reloaded and a target is within its range. It is incredibly tough and speedy as well. The tank driver will use this advantage to charge and ram through enemy units while using its long turret barrel to bash surrounding targets.
On top of the Tank are three Riders, who sit atop the armored vehicle and are vulnerable to enemy fire. They are separate from the Tank and may die on their own, though this does not harm the machine itself. If somehow an enemy unit gets close enough to a Tank Rider, they will attempt to punch them with their fists, though this can prove to be wildly ineffective.
Location
To unlock, go to the Legacy Map. Look for a patch of trees behind the church. Beneath a group of four trees and a tree which looks similar to a pine tree. There is a hole in the ground. Go inside the hole, and underground you'll find a buried tank. Stare at the tank until it glows and shakes to unlock the unit. |
Appearance
It appears as a modern tank resembling an M1 AbramsW with three riders on it: One is sitting on the back, one sits on top of the turret, and the final one sits on the main cannon.

Usage
The Tank's main use is as crowd control, with its barrel able to destroy clumped up groups and its ramming attack, crushing small Units underneath. In melee, it will also swing its cannon around to deal significant damage to units. It is quite fast too, enabling it to easily push through big groups and destroy large formations. It also explodes when it is killed, causing major damage to any units near the blast. Without a Banner Bearer to keep it in place, the tank will likely do far more damage by ramming than it will actually do with its cannon, as it can attack much faster by doing this.
Thanks to the high damage of the main gun, combined with its extremely high range (Farther than the Ballista) and fast attack rate, the Tank can be used with the Banner Bearer as a powerful sniper, useful to take out stronger units such as giants, while normally it would attempt to run them over and probably fail.
Despite the Tank's high health (Can take up to two Ballista bolts) and gun of its own, ranged units pose the greatest threat. They can be placed in very large numbers thanks to the high cost of the Tank, and can easily chip down its health while the Tank is distracted with melee units.
Using Unit Possession on the tank will maximize its effectiveness, as the Tank can easily circle-strafe enemies while firing on them, a feature that is largely absent on the majority of artillery units. However, the tank can easily get bogged down on maps with limited space, such as Ancient 1, due to its large size.
Trivia
- It had one machine gun back when it was known as M1 Abrams.
- It is possible to kill all units on the tank but not the tank itself. The reason that the riders aren't its weakness may be because if it was, then the Tank would be rather underpowered.
- When it is destroyed its treads disappear.
- Wilhelm Nylund on Reddit in response to a fan's question said that the Tank (then called the M1 Abrams) would be moved to the World War Faction and that they would be combining the WW1 and WW2 Factions into one big Faction. The World War Faction was scrapped and the Tank is now in the Legacy Faction.
- If you have the BUGS DLC you can make units not die. but if you shoot the tank with enough ice arrows, it will explode.
- It was first called the M1 Abrams, and is most likely based on the real-life M1 Abrams tank.
- Once the Tank is destroyed, it will 'sink' into the ground. Other examples of this are the Da Vinci Tank, Ballista, Longship, etc.
- You can't individually control each unit on the tank.
- The units on Tank will attack the enemy unit when the tank is running over the enemy.
- Ironically, it has less HP than the Da Vinci Tank, despite being made completely out of metal.
- The Tank can occasionally defeat an Ice Giant, if they missed most of their attacks.
- The Tank can occasionally defeat a Super Boxer as well, if it could get over them.
- The Tank can get completely flipped and flung across the map when shot with Cupid’s Bow.
- Technically, the riders are the only Units that can talk.
- The Tank is of few units, if any others use it at all, who use the NeverStopRunning movement option.
- The Tank's riders tend to have voice cracks when making certain voice sounds.
- While in large numbers, if there is one enemy unit, the Tank(s) will dogpile on top of it.
