Cupid
The Cupid is a Secret ranged unit from the Ancient faction. They are equipped with the Heart Bow. |
Location
To find Cupid, you must go to Ancient Sandbox. On the default blue side, you'll find a house bigger than the others. On the roof, there are two trees and between them is the Cupid's bow. |
Characteristics
The Cupid is a small flying Wobbler that shoots love arrows at their enemies. Units who are shot with this arrow will lose interest in attacking their enemies for 10 seconds and instead draw their attention toward their allies. If an ally gets too close, they will kiss them relentlessly, draining their hitpoints until the effects wear off or the kisser is dead.
However, lovestruck units will usually maintain social distance from their allies, depending on their weapon range. If there is no other allies on the map, they will continue walking and ignore Cupid. As Cupid's cooldown is much shorter than the effect's duration, they can easily keep a single unit dazed in love until they die from the arrow or the miniscule health drain from the effect.
Appearance
The unit looks like Cupid as it has blonde hair, wings to make them fly, wears a diaper, and carries a heart bow with heart arrows.

Strategies
Usage
It can easily distract Units by making them love each other with its arrows. Cupid's arrows cause targets to be unable to attack for 10 seconds. If the target is the only unit on their team, then they will simply ignore Cupid. When the target is "making out" with another unit, the other unit's health will be slowly taken away, much like the Vampire, but to a lesser (and thematically more erotic) extent. Cupid is quite powerful, even being able to affect units if they hit their shields. The only units that can block their effects being the Haybaler, Blunderbuss, Cactus, and units that can deflect projectiles, although larger units need more cupids in order to distract. Cupid is especially powerful against units that have an operator like the Ballista and the Da Vinci Tank because of how one of the entities will try to make love to the other, usually causing it to go around in circles and possibly fly in absolutely hilarious ways. Cupid's special ability can clear the Skeleton Warrior's mind control when activated.

Trivia
- When a unit "smooches" another unit, the "smooches" will cause damage and eventually, a unit will die from "smooches".
- The effects of Cupid can be removed by being healed by a Healer. ( This doesn't seem to apply anymore )
- They are the second unit with mind control abilities. The first being the Skeleton Warrior, and third is both the Witch and Skeleton Giant.
- After shot by an cupid arrow, the units that were shot will slowly lose health, although at a very, very slow rate. This can be seen on the health bar when possessing a unit.
- Units with riders (eg. Artillery and Cavalry) will defy physics and spin into the air when struck with love, due to the ride attempting to kiss the rider which creates a perpetual motion that propels them.
- Artillery pieces are regarded as units as well and will be affected by the love effect.
- A Mammoth can still attack when distracted due to a mammoth's attack being caused by movement.
- A lot of cupids can kill a Super Peasant, but they need a long time, but this waiting time can be reduced using a some high damage ranged units (like Artemis).
- If you shoot Cupid's arrow at an enemy Skeleton Warrior, other enemy units will become afraid of it and run away (even other Skeleton Warriors). ** Deliberately deploying Cupid to counter Skeleton Warriors is, therefore, a valid tactic, as this can massively amplify Cupid's ability to cause disruption.
- This unit can be a majorly powerful opponent in 1v1s against non-fast melee units, since Cupid can just shoot their opponent over and over again, not letting them attack back, making them defenseless, while not being able to get help from any teammate, and not being able to get close enough to even attack before being rendered defenseless again. This means that Cupid can defeat units that cost much more than it.
- The Cupid uses the Wobbler unit base, and not the Halfling base.
- The targeted unit makes smooching sounds when coming in contact with another.
- When a unit "smooches" another unit, you can hear saxophone music.
- The Cupid's death vocals are very quiet and barely audible.
- While their exact hair is not available in the Unit Creator, it can be substituted with Ancient Hair 00, which shares the same model but different color.
- The Cupid's love effect used to make units forget everything and lunge toward their closest ally to kiss them.
- Now, units with the love effect will keep a distance from their crush, depending on their weapon range.
- They were first showcased on YouTube. Then on Reddit.
