Tornadoes are special attacks used by a few units under certain conditions.
If you boost Blackbeard, Da Vinci Tank, Lady Red Jade, Sensei or Mace Spinner with 6 or more Cheerleaders and give them a little space and time (or have a custom unit with Enrage and a spinning ability and activate their Enrage ability), they will start spinning rapidly and become a fully-fledged tornado. However, Blackbeard and Lady Red Jade's tornadoes are the same size, and Mace Spinner's and Sensei's are same size too.
The tornado's size depends on the unit, with the Da Vinci Tank giving the biggest variant, and the Mace Spinner the smallest. The tornado spins rapidly, catching and sucking up nearest units, damaging them in the process. The tornado can still be interrupted if a unit manages to kill the user.
Lady Red Jade's special ability, the Devastating Tornado Swipe, allows her to shoot tornadoes towards her enemies without the assistance of cheerleaders.
Any custom unit with the Spin to Win, Red Jade Spin Slash or Shuriken Tempest abilities can also form tornadoes.
Defense against Tornadoes
Getting an attack to connect on a tornado-wielding unit can be difficult but not impossible. Some strategies include:
- Pikes have enough reach to attack a tornado without getting dangerously close.
- Fast and accurate projectile weapons, such as guns.
- Very heavy units that cannot be picked up by tornadoes, such as Ice Giants. They may have some difficulty hitting fast-moving units, but depending on the size and hitpoints, they may be able to solo a tornado user.
Units capable of forming a Tornado
- Da Vinci Tank: Extremely Large tornado, coupled with cannon fire. Very difficult to disrupt.
- Blackbeard: Very Large tornado, coupled with kicks and critical hits from anchors. Very difficult to disrupt.
- Lady Red Jade: Very Large tornado, coupled with kicks and critical hits from Guandao Very Difficult to disrupt.
- Mace Spinner: Small tornado and most basic and cheapest one, coupled with hits from maces. Fairly easy to disrupt.
- Sensei: Small tornado , coupled with hits from lots of shuriken's. Relatively hard to disrupt, however, this tornado will die from the beginning to the first fall because of how low sensei's health is.
Trivia
- As of the Bug DLC, any Unit can become a tornado when you toggle the "All units spin" bug and give it some cheerleaders.
