Swordcaster
The Swordcaster is a ranged unit from the Spooky faction. They are equipped with the Hand Lock and Sword Casting. |
Characteristics
The Swordcaster can be quite devastating, especially in groups. It is, however, susceptible to being killed by ranged attacks, as the range of its swords are not as far as most ranged units, and its health, while above average, is still low, making it better if protected by other units.
Appearance
The unit has 8 blue longswords slowly orbiting around it. It has a bowl haircut and fantasy prison clothes. Its hands are bound in a lock and appears to be wearing a locked, heavy cuirass. It hovers slightly above the ground and floats around during battle.

Usage
The Swordcaster will telekinetically throw its swords at enemies, with the swords reappearing within its orbit a moment later. When the Swordcaster dies, all of its swords point towards it and move to impale them. When possessed, only their movement is controllable - the sword casting is automatic.
The Swordcaster has a fairly high rate of fire when casting its swords, at about 2 swords a second, and quite accurately, even at point-blank range when other ranged units miss. However, the swords themselves are relatively weak, with most able-health units such as the Harvester or the Knight needing an alarming amount of sword projectiles to be defeated. This is usually made up for by the Swordcaster's high rate of fire. The heavy knockback can allow a single heavy unit to be halted. However, the Swordcaster is still weak to hordes.
The Swordcaster is, nonetheless, fairly vulnerable for such an expensive unit. It has a fairly short range, and - against melee units - it is likely to be overrun. It is also tougher than average, but not tough to where it can take a lot of hits. This can be an advantage, however, as the Swordcaster can be used in a kamikaze role; its self-stabbing death action can also impale surrounding units. Nonetheless, Unit hordes of Hoplites and brawlers can be extremely lethal to Swordcaster. Armored unit hordes like the Haybaler are lethal as well.
Trivia
- Since the Swordcaster floats, it can go over low fences into areas that are normally inaccessible and become essentially invincible; in short, if there is a tilted wall, then they can fly over it.
- If used with enough cheerleaders, it can shoot swords so fast that they become a solid object. They would also fire so fast the swords seem to come out of one another. This is probably because how the Swordcaster reloads
- It can be rather irritating to fight if you only have melee units left and it floats into an unreachable spot, e.g. off the map.
- It is commonly mistaken that a Swordcaster will suicide with their swords when near death, finishing them off. This is not true, as the Swordcaster will only do this when they actually die.
- When controlled, the player can only control the character's movement, not the swords, of which fly at the closest enemy (or ally) automatically.
