Poacher (Alpha)
Overview
The Poacher is a cheap, long ranged Unit in Totally Accurate Battle Simulator's Pre-Alpha, however it was removed in the Open Alpha. When the game was first released, it was considered overpowered and better than the Archer due to its great aim and high fire rate, however its aim was made less accurate to balance it out.
Appearance
The Poacher takes on the appearance of a simple Wobbler with a short bow which it uses to shoot enemies at an impressive fire rate.
Usage
Normally, it is best to keep Poachers in lines near to the front lines of an army unlike Archers due to their straight shooting and low range. It is best to keep them close, but not too close. A single Poacher is not useful and should be grouped with other Poachers, Archers, or Muskets. This Unit could also be spammed, however this is not a very effective use for it.
Trivia
- Before the Poacher was tweaked, the Poacher was considered one of the best Units in the Pre-Alpha, due to its efficiency in large numbers and its resistance to melee attacks, as it used its bow as a shield to block them.
- The Poacher's bow is a smaller version of the longbow used by the Archer.
- The Poacher was intended to be added to the Viking or Crusader faction before it was removed.
- The Poacher made a joke reappearance in the Rocket Launcher's video under the name of "Retierd Poacher", a likely unintended misspelling of "Retired Poacher". The Poacher has a "Retierd Poacher" sign on its front, and its bow slung over its back.
