Tree Giant
The Tree Giant is a Secret melee unit from the Medieval faction. They are equipped with the Tree. |
Location
The Tree Giant has to be found before it can be used in Sandbox and the campaign. Go to Medieval 1 and look around on the edge of the left side of the map for a lone tree, smaller than the trees that make up the rest of the forest. Look at the tree until it starts glowing. You may need to reposition your camera to get it close enough. |
Characteristics
The Tree Giant is a humongous vagrant who uses a green, lush tree to smack those who are enemies with them.
Appearance
The Tree Giant looks like a gigantic Wobbler with brown hair and a tied beard, a green shirt with two brown wrappings at the waist, brown ragged shorts, and brown sandals on their feet. They actually have no clothes unique to their appearance, as the props listed belong to the Berserker, Farmer (albeit recolored), Bomb Thrower, and Artemis respectively.
Unit Voice
Not found, yet.
Usage
The Tree Giant is a super-Unit that can be used against both massed infantry and other super-Units. Despite being a little slow in their movements, the Tree Giants are very strong units in close combat, in which they crush their opponents with super-powerful attacks. It will slam the ground with its tree, causing smaller units to go flying. Due to its large size and slow speed, it is vulnerable to artillery and large numbers of missiles and has trouble dealing with small amounts of smaller enemies due to its sweeping attacks. These units are most effective in direct combat, and they can deal with various hordes of units, including other giants and bosses (Samurai Giant, Mammoth), but they can sometimes lose to the Ice Giant. Possession of the unit is almost always a detriment to your chances of winning. Its technique is one of wild swings, so a well-placed shot when it inevitably overextends itself in attack can prove fatal to it. Any units that find their way besides its feet can mess with the Tree Giant, as it cannot accurately hit enemies close to itself, often requiring allies to clear them off.
Because of Tree Giant's high DPS, powerful AoE, and high health, it is extremely effective against groups of strong melee units, like Kings, Thors, Captains, Vlads, and even Pirate Queens.
Surprisingly, Bards make a solid counter for this mighty giant, because of its slow movement which makes it unable to reach them.
Trivia
- It is the second tallest unit, right behind the Ice Giant, and the fourth highest health unit, just after the Ice Giant as well.
- It is very similar to the mythical hill giant.
- It deals more DPS than Samurai Giant (Giant Katana deals more damage than the Tree, but the tree has less cooldown) and is ultimately stronger than it, despite it using a tree.
- The Tree Giant had the same voice as the Samurai, due to the AI being that of one, but after the Renaissance update, it had the Squire's AI and thus also shared the voice, but deeper.
- Now, it shares the same voice as the Ice Giant.
- The tree creates a small cloud of leaves when it lands.
- The Tree Giant's attacks have more AoE and Accuracy and they are faster.
- As of the spooky update, there seems to be a bug where multiple Tree Giants spawn when you try to spawn one, they will glitch out during this.
- Note: This bug is not in the game anymore.
- In the UC beta, its shirt was recolored to green for unknown reasons. Possibly a bug, mistake, or feature.
- After the UC beta, the Tree Giant is now able to defeat the Ice Giant, and quite often, too.
- Tree Giant can occasionally kill the Super Boxer in 1v1 battles if their special ability didn't make it fall on its back.
- Tree Giant is one of the best counters for Skeleton Giants, because it doesn't take damage from their kicks(which are the main source of their high damage), and a single one is able to defeat up to 12 of them.
- Tree Giant can occasionally destroy a Tank as well.
- To understand how powerful the Tree Giant is against groups of strong units, a single tree giant can kill up to 12 Kings, a little over 4 times its price, up to 10 Thors, a little over 5 times their price, up to 10 Minotaurs, 4 times its price, up to 10 Vlads a little over 4 times their price, up to 5 Lady Red Jades, a little over 4 times its cost up to 4 Pirate Queens, a little over 2 times their cost, up to 5 Reapers, a little above 3 times its cost.
- Tree Giant can occasionally destroy a Tank as well.
- A single Tree Giant can defeat up to 50 Mammoths on their own, 4x more than the Ice Giant.
