Hay Baler

Characteristics
The Hay Baler is a fragile and weak but greatly shielded unit armed with a Stick. They will use it to swing, beat and whack enemy units. Poor and low health with only average speed, they resorted to wearing haybales as armor, and totally accurately, the haybales are more protective than real armor, being able to absorb most types of projectiles, like fire, and even ballista bolts. Such budget cuts makes them a very cheap unit.
In combat, the Hay Baler's Stick deals low damage but have a very fast cooldown. Even though very effective against projectiles, their haybale cannot protect against melee attacks; their arms, legs and head are also exposed, leaving them vulnerable to getting shot.
Appearance
The Hay Baler is a Wobbler of average size wielding a Stick. They have a brown bowl cut hair and wears a thick haybale. The haybale has blades of hay sticking out at its outer edges and is tied with two straps around the center. They also wear a pair of brown simple shoes that are tightened with rope.

Usage
Hay Balers should be used as shields, and to an extent, are great as cannon fodder against most ranged units. Their hay bales are completely immune to most ranged attacks (It can even survive a few hits from a cheered-on ballista.), and they even have enough health to hold their own against weak melee units. Unfortunately, they deal very low damage, so they are helpless against stronger units.
If a projectile hits the hay, it will do no damage to the unit at all, AoE projectiles can do damage though. This makes it one of the only units that can survive many, many powerful or high fire rate units(aside from the Blunderbuss and Cactus) such as Artemis, but they are helpless against armor penetrating units like the Musketeer, that (not always in one shot through, as there is a chance that the shot just knocks the unit back) can kill them.
Encounters
The Hay Baler is the shock troop of the Farmer faction, there to absorb arrows and take out ranged units for their army. They also blend in with the actual haybales in the Farmer maps. A good practice is to check if the haybales have googly eyes or not.

Trivia
- Surprisingly, they show great resistance to Ballista bolts, but are affected by a consequent knockback.
- Before the Dynasty update, they had no knockback against Ballista bolt.
- They don't have any clothes under the hay bale.
- Both the Farmer and Hay Baler had the exact same voices.
- This was changed when the full version came out.
- Be careful when using Hay Baler against Halfling, due the fact that their smaller size can avoid their stick by lowly getting out of the attack range and trip up/knock over the Hay Baler.
- Perhaps the most insane part about the Hay Baler is the fact that the hay is fire-proof. This can be seen in a 1v1 with a Skeleton Archer.
- The Hay Baler seems to have the stick from the Gatherer unit.
- Hay Bale is actually an ability rather than a piece of clothing.
