Stoner
The Stoner is a ranged unit from the Tribal faction. They are equipped with the Boulder Throw. |
Characteristics
The Stoner is a fragile but powerful unit armed with a huge Boulder in their hands. Despite their skinny stature, they can (and will) toss their rock at enemy units with tremendous power from a close range. Stat-wise, they have low health, slightly slow speed, and a cheap price.
In combat, the Stoner tosses their boulder at a fast speed and have a slightly long reload time; their stone flies at a slow speed and deals high damage. The immense power that comes with the tossed stone can even crush shielded units; though the knockback power of the stone diminishes as the unit gets bigger. Before thrown, their stone can also somewhat protect the Stoner by blocking certain projectiles that are coming at their torso.
Appearance
The Stoner is a Wobbler of average size carrying a Stone. They have long, messy brown hair reminiscent of that of the Clubber but without the beard and with a darker shade of brown, and wears a simple brown garment held by a shoulder strap on their right side. They also wear a necklace made out of three bones tied to a strap with twine.
Unit Voice
Usage
The Stoner acts as a cheap, ranged crowd control unit. Their rocks, despite being so low, allow the Stoner to block arrows/spears/darts coming at it.
It is very good at dealing with clumped up formations, such as phalanx of Clubbers and Protectors or Sarissas and Shields. It is also able to easily KO some stronger units like a Hoplite or a Squire. However, its rather low HP and slow attack speed makes this unit only worth if there are other units protecting it.
Additionally, it has a very low fire rate, so it is very vulnerable when reloading. Make sure to take advantage of that if you're facing against one.
Encounters
The Stoner is rarely encountered in the Campaigns, though when they do, they are often at the midlines, due to their need for close range to attack.

Changelog
- Released.
- The Stoner throws rocks again.
Trivia
- Some people (including the developers at Landfall Games) regarded an early version of this Unit as a "Poo Thrower", as it grabs its projectiles from its behind, and the projectiles look kind of like poop. This was fixed in the Stone Age trailer.
- The rock in their icon is more of an oval shape, whereas the actual projectile is spherical.
- The Stoner used to be called the Rock Thrower, and it threw small, easily deflect-able rocks instead of large, heavier rocks.
- The Stoner can easily deal with some units on levels of "Final Destination" because it has the ability to simply KO them right away.
