Bone Mage
The Bone Mage is a ranged unit from the Tribal faction. They are equipped with the Bone Mage Staff. |
Characteristics
The Bone Mage is a moderately fragile but moderately powerful unit armed with the magical Bone Mage Staff. They will use it to raise bone spikes from the ground at the enemy units from a close range. They will also use it beat and whack enemy units in close-quarters. With moderately low health and slightly slow movement speed, they are a somewhat expensive unit.
In combat, the Bone Mage raises their voodoo bone spikes at a very fast speed and have slightly long reload time. The chain of spikey osseous will burst through the ground and deals moderately high damage, sending fragile units who were caught in the attack into the air. Unlike most ranged units, the Bone Mage can defend themselves when approached in close-quarters. Their melee attack deals very low damage and has an extremely long cooldown period. In addition, it can also only be performed after the bone spell has been casted. Beware, the Bone Mage's magic can cause immense friendly fire, and can even kill themselves if they cast their spells too close.
Appearance
The Bone Mage is a Wobbler of average size wielding a Bone Mage Staff. Alike their staff, they too wear the deer skull, braced with a strap and two brown leaves dangling from each side. Clothing-wise, the Bone Mage wears a primitive hide cape that extends to their thigh and a brown loincloth crudely tied with a rope. The loincloth is ornamented with a skull tied through its orbit with the rope at the center and two bones tied with thick strings on each side. They also wear a necklace made out of three bones tied to a strap with twines along with a pair of bracelets made out of bones bound to two straps.
Unit Voice
Usage
The Bone Mage, due to its large spike attack, is great at countering other strong units, as well as destroying siege units, and keeping them at bay. The Bone Mage is also great at breaking up enemy formations.
Once enemies get close enough to the Bone Mage, it will start using its melee attack, but cannot use its ranged attack while doing this. If placed poorly, it can also damage your own units.
The Bone Mage is great against lots of weaker units like the Clubber and Protector grouped in one area. It is also great against enemies with shields because they cannot block the spikes which come from below. However, it can be killed easily by most ranged units, and has a hefty cost of 300.
Encounters
The Bone Mage tend to appear mid to late levels of the Tribal Faction, often at the backlines of their army. They will send your clumped melee units into the atmosphere if you are not careful.
