Bayonet Musket
Not to be confused with the Musket, their ranged counterpart unit, or the Unit Creator weapon Musket - Bayonet.
Overview
The Bayonet Musket is an unconfirmed unit that was replaced by the Musket in Early Access. It is showcased in one of Landfall Games's videos. It was originally planned to be added to the Napoleon Faction, but with the faction split to the Renaissance Faction and Pirate Faction it's now unknown and unlikely if it'll ever see release.
Appearance
The Bayonet Musket looks identical to the old Musket Unit, a Peasant wearing an Imperial Shako, but his musket has a bayonet on the end. When they charge at enemies, a cloud of dust is left behind.
Behavior
In their promotional video, they are seen impaling Peasants with the bayonet and then throwing them to the side. Unlike the Musket, this unit has no ranged attack, serving only as it's melee counterpart.
Trivia
- Bayonets were commonly used in real life up to the late 1940s to stab anyone who went too close to a line of soldiers. They were widely used during WWI (World War One) and the American Civil war, when most of the fighting was done in trenches and close quarters conditions.
- About or a little later in this period in warfare, soldiers would fire one shot while charging at the enemy, then engage in a close-quarters stabbing combat.
- Bayonet Musket units can be trampled by another Bayonet Musket unit of the same team.
- It probably would have made it as a World War unit, due to Musket being in the Renaissance faction. But since the World Wars faction was scrapped, the release of this unit is almost hopeless.
- It's weapon is in the Unit Creator.File:Totally Accurate Battle Simulator- Bayonet Musket ChargeVideo showcasing the Bayonet Muskets
